What's Next?

What's Next?

I am going to continue to use my Life in Uruguay blog site because alot of the things I may write are related to where I am living. I am no longer living in the United States, I live in Paysandu, Uruguay because it is where I want to live. I was going to say I do not really need to describe why I am truly living here because, on the surface of it, it doesn't appear to matter, the why.

I met someone and decided to move to Paysandu, Uruguay to live with her for the rest of my life. Little did I know it would be a little more complicated than the simple. Everything that I do, everything that I am directly affects the lives of 4 other people, in different ways.

I have not been following what is happening with the COVID-19 as closely as I could, my main concern is what is going to happen afterwards. I am aware that the fear of this virus is very much active in people's minds. There are a few things that didn't need to be done, but who is to really say what needs to be done and what doesn't, better to be "safe" than sorry. I emphasized the word for a reason and hopefully you will understand after you have read this blog to know why.

My personal safety was not something I considered when I made the decision to move to Uruguay. Actually, based on the two lives, living in the United States involved more risk. I had no true concept of what life would be like in Uruguay, but I was ready and willing to take the plunge. I even bought a one-way ticket to come here. In a short period of time, things changed, things happened, but I am here and here is where I am going to stay.

This virus is going to change the entire world. The vast majority of the population of the world was not aware of this virus until it became a pandemic, then everyone was affected. Ways of living changed, ways of doing business changed, most of the people have, somewhat, adjusted to the changes that have occured. Most of the people know that this pandemic must, eventually, come to a termination point. The question is: What's next?

For here, in places like Uruguay, things will go back to being close to normal; by normal being the way life used to be before the virus. The thing that is going to be affected most by what is happening at this moment is the economy. I believe the people that will be the least affected by what is happening is the already existent "poor". The poor is a class of people that have learned to adapt and survive, for centuries. It has been proposed that the class of people that will be mostly affected by the economic changes will be the middle class, it has been suggested that at some point, the middle class will cease to exist; there will only be the rich and the poor.

Before the pandemic, 30 eggs, a maple, was selling for about 100 pesos, currently that same 30 eggs, a maple, has a price tag of 250 to 300 pesos. Same chickens laying eggs, but suddenly eggs became a rare commodity. I do not think the rise in price was meant to be a means of taking advantage of what was happening, things happened that made the rise in the price necessary; along with other things that have been affected by price changes. I do not know what will happen to those prices but I feel this way about it, if I am an egg farmer and I can make more money selling my eggs than I did before the virus, maybe I can keep selling my eggs for the new price.

When people finally go back to work, they will be making the same income that they received before but some of the prices are going to be what I will call "current virus prices". The money won't last as long as it did before. Lifestyles will need to change. This will be the first part of the what next. What will be happening on a more global scale? The United States will no longer be able to hold the position of world leader that it has enjoyed for the few centuries of its existence. It won't be a position that will be transferred to another country. It will be something that will be in the possession of an organization titled, The New World Order.

I like to explain what is going to happen by something I heard years ago, it involved things that needed to be done in order to capture an eagle. In order to shorten the story, a trapper captured an eagle by employing a method that required subtle changes that ended in the eagle being captured without incident. Subtle changes are happening now, that the population is not conciously aware of. The changes are so subtle that they are perceived as normal. For example, egg prices. We will learn to  accept the price change because we need to buy eggs. It's eggs and things for us here, what things have you noticed where you live?

What is going to happen, and you may or may not notice it happening. The one thing that has been preached for centuries, what most Christians are going to think of as the "Mark of the Beast" is coming. It is coming in my lifetime. It is coming in the lifetime of the majority of the population. The top countries will experience it first and then eventually the rest of the world. The economy that the rich want to happen will be here and the majority of the population will be part of it.

I know a lot of people are saying, it won't happen to me. Things will be said like, "I won't take the 'mark' I won't get caught up in the Rapture if I have the mark", etc. If you love your family, you will do whatever it takes for them, but don't worry it will all be done with a subtlety that won't be openly noticed.

I have never hoped that I would be so wrong about anything in my life.

Thoughts regarding the virus.

The virus is just the shell of the egg. Most of us are in the struggle to keep the egg from breaking. Some people still can't see the egg. The egg is not the real problem, the real problem is what the virus is causing. This virus that can only be seen through the lens of a microspope is putting the entire world in a financial crisis. When I think about what is really happening, I almost feel like the people that succumb to the virus are the blessed ones. After all is said and done we, the people of earth, are going to be in for a financial impact that many people will not survive. It is said that everyone is a paycheck away from bankrupcy; it is basically how badly you will be affected by bankrupcy. The people that have the most to lose are the middle class. Most of the upper class have a reserve to fall back on. The lower class, the poor, won't be too severly affected because they are already used to having nothing and know how to survive on less. The middle class will be the most affected because many of the middle class don't understand what it means to be middle class. The missing paycheck(s) are going to cripple the financial stability of most of the middle class. They are not going to be sure how to proceed. They have been the middle class so long that they have lost their survival instinct. I, for one, am proud to be part of the duct tape and bailing wire generation, redneck, if you will. It is because I began life living in a world less plentiful than the upper class and slightly lower than middle class. We learned how to live on the minimum. I was reared by a survivor to the Great Depression and had many family members that survived it. I learned the value of eating foods that most people would never think about eating. I am not sure what inspired me to write this blog other than wanting people to be aware of the future. We are not living in a fiction novel of post apocalyptic existence. This is going to be real. Every kind of prepper is going to be faced with challenges that they could only imagine before Covid-19. I sincerely hope that I am wrong about what is ahead of us, but there is going to be a financial impact on the world. I pray that it won't be a severe one. Be one of the intelligent people that know how to prepare for an uncertain future. We are not going to be characters in a zombie movie. We are going to be hungry people doing what is necessary for our families to be safe and provided for. People are already doing crazy things, and that is a result of a quarantine. I shook someone's hand today, a friend of the family, and immediately went to wash my hands, an act I would not have done previously. I implore everyone, please take the quarantine seriously. I pertains to everyone not just the people that believe it is a real physical threat. Think about it this way. How would you feel if your "it can't happen to me" attitude caused one of your children to become infected and die because you didn't believe it was real.

Still here.

People living in the US have a lot of nerve complaining about going to the dentist; even to have a tooth extracted. My first visit to a dentist in Uruguay. It appeared to me to be a few steps up from throwing back a few shots of whiskey and baring it. I am exaggerating quite a bit, even though that did come to my mind. Tthere were quite a few nicities missing like a TV in the treatment room or listening to soothing music. It is no nonsense get straight to business. What I did like I was told what it would cost to pull the tooth. 800 pesos ($27), I'd like to see you get a tooth pulled that cheaply in the US. I can buy a top of the line partial plate for 9000 pesos ($300).
The office is different, there is more than one dentist sharing the overall office. They have their own room where they conduct their business. There is an assistant, if needed. Circled around the chair after making sure there would not be any pain, and began the extraction process. Half the tooth came out, now skills are going to be needed on how to extract the other half. The jaw bone was not quite ready to give up its hold. A few minutes later, done. She put the tooth in a 4x4 and handed it to me. It had a gold cap. That's a 50 year old, Navy dentist installed cap.
I was going to post this on facebook but I remembered I have a blog about life in Uruguay and figure, perfect.
Here I am drinking Durazno Yogurt and scratching my chin, it's coming back to life. I required a couple of extra doses of "novacane".
All just another part of why I love living here. It was like visiting the dentist when I was younger. Do not misunderstand me, I hate going to the dentist, and if I admit it, I find it scary. I had a bad experience with a dentist and a drill when I was about 4 years old. He wanted to fill a tooth, and I wanted no part of it.
